Process and Real Time Matter

ImageThese young students are enjoying the fruits of much hard work. The clay they used to make these objects came out of the ground. They beat and soaked and worked the raw clay until it was ready to form their individual pieces of art. These little artistic creations are the result of hours of time readying the clay, followed by by a day of careful monitoring as they inched the pieces closer and closer to the heat of a fire they tended. Next they will “cook” the clay in coals in the ground to finish the project. Process and real time are too often foreign to our children’s experiences.
