A Bit Of The World!

A bit of the world finds a child….and the child knows!

Two budding entomologists in Counterpane’s Lower School are researching the cicada discovered by a young child. It is drying its wings after emerging from its cast skin, so the students are able to REALLY see it closely! After identifying a cicada killer wasp last week, one of the students is recording the food chain of these insects. The other is drawing the intricate details of the cicada as they discuss what is happening with its wings. They excitedly observe the wings change orientation as they dry.

Making it real ensures the best learning.
